Chocolate and almond amaretti biscuits

There’s a packet of chocolate that needs to be used, and you need something deliciously sweet to go with your hot (or cold) drink. Hmmm… what to cook? After some long thinking and intense google searching, it suddenly hits you: chocolate + small & sweet = Amaretti.

These little delights are crunchy on the outside yet chewy on the inside… and that’s just the start. Encasing the biscuit, there’s a dusty and sweet layer of icing sugar. Break the biscuit open and you find a whole other level. Within this crispy exterior lies a sticky, chewy centre which includes a chocolate and almond frangipane filling (yum!) containing fluffy egg whites and zero flour (which means it’s gluten free!).

Not only do they taste fresh and amazing, they are also perfect for curing those sweet cravings and serving with coffee. These biscuits do have a relatively short shelf life (3-4 days in an airtight container), but I’m sure this won’t be a problem as they will be eaten in no time at all! A real winner x
