A classic with a twist

Chocolate Orange Shortbread

Need a quick, delicious dessert for an afternoon tea? Why not cook up this sugary chocolate orange shortbread. It is zesty, crumbly and sweet and the results are awesome.

Made with just five ingredients, it is perfect for that something little to go with your cup of tea. It tastes buttery, sweet, has that hit of beautiful orange zest and is drizzled with melted dark chocolate and extra grated orange rind to turn it into something very special. Before garnishing, it is sprinkled with golden caster sugar when taken straight out of the oven and it forms a golden toffee layer in the risidual heat.

The classic combination of orange and chocolate (jaffa) is sure to be a hit. The chocolate not only sweetens it, but adds a richness and lusciousness to the shortbread. The orange rind helps cut through the sweetness of the rest of the biscuit. A classic shortbread taken to a whole new level. Delicious.
