The time has come to say goodbye to 2018, and what a year it has been. A higher year level at school, a year full of many surprises and another great year of showcasing my cooking skills – it’s been fun!
Why not end the year on a high with this extravagant gingerbread house. Soft, moist gingerbread stuck together with white chocolate and made pretty with royal icing, chocolate freckles and a dusting of icing sugar. So sweet!
Of course, this seemed like a great idea at the time, but I didn’t realise just how big the task was ahead. It turned out to be 9 hours of mixing, rolling, re-rolling, baking, cooling, contructing, decorating and finally serving this gingerbread house!
Even though this was one of the hardest recipes I’ve set myself, I will say that it is so worth it; and being me, I couldn’t just do a cheat’s version!
